A Brief History of Sculpture

Sculpture as art and as an expression of religious devotion has always been found in history, as far back as recorded history goes. In almost all of the ancient civilizations sculptures were used for either religious devotion or as tributes to those who had passed away.

Sculptures are universal because they are pictorial and show aspects of the human condition that transcend language and cultural barriers. The origins spans through great extent and throughout the continents of the world.
